Bearded and with bushy hair, his image was a far cry to his slick presentation in the 1980s, when he was a besuited high-flyer.

Foster ran from police, the cameras capturing him running across an oval and diving into bushland.

Police held him down, placing handcuffs on him.

The arrest wasn't seamless. There was a moment of alarm when police mistakenly thought Foster had a firearm.

Banned from having anything to do with selling slimming products, Foster was found to have been selling Sensaslim, an oral spray purporting to aid weight loss.

The Federal Court issued the search warrant in November for contempt of court.

He was facing four years' jail. Foster promptly disappeared.

A Current Affair had been tracking Foster’s whereabouts. In June 2013 he was thought to be still in Australia, on the Gold Coast. Earlier he was thought to be staying at a homestead at Kyogle, in northern NSW.

Foster then sent photos of himself drinking kava and reading the Fiji Times to media outlets, but it was never proven whether he actually left the country.

It is understood that while holed up in northern NSW, Foster was running yet another business.

His former lawyer Sean Cousins called Foster a “narcissistic psychopath” who became desperate and paranoid while on the run.

In the 1980s, Foster was a high-flyer, dating page three girl Samantha Fox, and peddling weight-loss products.
