Not me, Barnaby on scrapped council merger

Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce has denied he helped stop an unpopular council merger in his NSW electorate, saying it was community.
The proposed merger of Walcha and Tamworth councils - which threatened to become hot issue in the battle for New England - has been scrapped.
"Not me, the community and councillors deserve credit," Mr Joyce tweeted on Thursday after a NSW government announcement.
