A pair of Northern Territory mates provided some very Aussie commentary as they filmed a snake devour a green tree frog in their backyard.

Mitch Smith decided to document the incident after he and a friend stumbled upon the reptilian Vs amphibian tussle at him home on Sunday.

The gruesome footage takes a sudden humorous turn as the pair offer a very blunt description of the unfolding events, NT News reports.

While the commentary may not be as subtle as Sir David Attenborough, the Aussie colloquialisms create the perfect narrative to the astonishing footage.

"Holly sh-t, I can't believe that frog is still alive," says one of the men.

"Poor frog, old Kermit's had a bad Sunday afternoon.

"That's hectic. Go for life son, go for life," says the other man as the frog makes a final attempt to free itself.

Smith's housemate Sarah Makin at one point interrupts the commentary, asking if the local bottle shop was open on Sunday.

Both men assure her it is.
