Northern Queensland police officer suspended over alleged rapes

A 23-year-old male Constable from Queensland's northern police region has been arrested and suspended over an alleged assault and rapes.

The man was arrested yesterday over two counts of rape and one count of assault, police said in a statement.

His arrest followed a woman making a complaint to police on Saturday, and a subsequent investigation.

The man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
