Search for teenagers after woman, unborn child killed in two-car crash in Newcastle
Police are searching for two teenagers involved in a two-car crash that killed a woman and an unborn child and left a pregnant driver seriously injured.
The actions of police are also under investigation after officers tried to stop the teenagers' car in Newcastle early yesterday.
The 55-year-old woman who was killed was on holiday from India. A pregnant 28-year-old woman was also seriously injured in the crash and police confirmed she had lost her baby.

A highway patrol officer first spotted a white Holden Commodore with fake number plates and four teenagers inside at North Lambton about 2.30am.
The officer stopped behind them at a traffic light before sounding their siren, the Commodore with the teenagers then speeding onto the wrong side of the road.
A few minutes later, another police car stopped behind the Commodore, which police said took off again onto the wrong side of the road and a minute later crashed into the Hyundai carrying the pregnant woman and the older woman.
"What's occurred is truly tragic, two women driving around innocently. One has lost their life, one has lost their unborn child," Acting Assistant Commissioner Paul Dunstan said.

Police said the driver and the passenger of the Commodore fled the scene, leaving behind their two passengers, a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, who were seriously injured.
Police allege the 19-year-old driver is known to them but the Commodore was not stolen. They said it was registered to the passenger who fled with the driver.
A crime scene was established and a critical incident team from Hunter Valley Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation will be reviewed by the Professional Standards Command and overseen by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC).
