No climate change research at farm agency

The government's agriculture research agency has just two people who look after climate change.

That's despite the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences branding climate variability a major risk to farmers in 2012.

Agriculture department acting chief Phillip Glyde told a Senate estimates hearing on Tuesday that climate change research is left to rural research and development bodies.
