Nine newsreader raps report on Vanilla Ice's airport meltdown
Nine newsreader Peter Hitchener has "rapped" his report on Vanilla Ice's airport meltdown, delighting fans of 90s one-hit wonders but probably leaving most viewers scratching their heads.
The much-loved 9NEWS Melbourne anchor endeared fans even further last night when he borrowed a number of lines from Vanilla Ice's one and only hit 'Ice Ice Baby' to report on his air port tantrum after missing his flight.
"Now stop, collaborate and listen, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla Ice got a little hot under the collar after his flight left without him in the US," Hitchener said.
"Describing traffic as bumper-to-bumper and avenues packed, the rapper demanded a refund, to keep his plans intact.
"Realising there was a problem and unable to solve it, fellow passengers told him to consider the cab rank while staff worked to resolve it."
The video has been watched thousands of times on social media, with fans praising Hitchener's smooth delivery and brilliant re-purposing of Vanilla Ice's lyrics.
