Accused sexual offender granted bail in Victoria to return home to Perth
A man accused of historical sexual offences against two boys under his care in Melbourne has been granted bail and permitted to return home to Perth.
Mark Barnett, 59, faced Melbourne Magistrates Court today after being extradited from Western Australia last week.
The warehouse manager has been charged with five counts of gross indecency and three counts of indecent assault dating back to 1986 in the Geelong suburb of Lovely Banks.

The charges involve two boys, then aged 11 and 12.
Barnett today applied for bail, a move unopposed by prosecutors.
He was released on a $10,000 surety, and must surrender his passport and reside at his home address in Parkwood, Perth.
Details of the criminal charges were not read to the court during the short hearing.
A further mention in the case will be heard on May 31 at Geelong Magistrates Court, but Barnett is excused from attending.
