SA boy critically injured after road crash

A young boy has been left seriously injured in South Australia after he and his mother were struck by a car.

Stacey Williams was walking with her six-year-old son at 8.30am today in Victor Harbor, south of Adelaide, when they were hit by one of the cars.

Police said a Hyundai sedan and a Mitsibushi Outlander four-wheel-drive collided in Seaview Road, forcing the sedan onto the pavement where it hit the pair before smashing through a fence.

The boy was taken by helicopter to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide for treatment with head and chest injuries.

His mum was taken to the South Coast District Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police said the two drivers involved in the crash – a woman aged 82 and a 46-year-old women were not injured.
