Girl, 10, in serious condition after crash on NSW property

A young girl has suffered serious injuries in an all-terrain vehicle crash at a property in NSW.

Emergency crews were called to Calderwood Road in Marshall Mount, a suburb if Wollongong, about 10.30 today after a ATV crashed into a fence with three passengers on board.

Police are investigating into the cause of the crash. 9news

One passenger, a 10-year-old girl from Birrong, has been airlifted to the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick with serious chest and head injuries.

The driver, a 31-year-old woman from Marshall Mount, has been taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment for minor injuries and mandatory testing.

An 11-year-old girl has been taken to Wollongong Hospital with a shoulder injury while another 11-year-old girl was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police believe the driver lost control of the ATV before it smashed into the fence.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating.
