Teen charged over Facebook threat to Geelong mosque

A teenager has been charged over a threatening social media post directed at a mosque in the Geelong area.

The 14-year-old boy, from a suburb in Geelong, allegedly threatened a mosque in Manifold Heights.

The charges include making threats to kill and using a carriage service to make a threat to kill after posting.

The charges follow a report to police about social media posts of a threatening nature directed at a place of worship on Sunday, March 17.

The teen was bailed by police to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
