Karawatha shooting: Partner of woman shot dead 'was going to propose on Valentine's Day'
The partner of a woman found dead with a gunshot wound at a home in Brisbane’s south has revealed he was going to propose to the 40-year-old on Valentine's Day.
Pieter Pickering has told 9NEWS he is "absolutely broken" after his girlfriend Megan Kirley was discovered dead on the rural property yesterday morning.

Mr Pickering was arrested at the scene, but overnight was released without charge.
"Megan was the kindest, strongest, most beautiful, understanding and compassionate woman that this world was ever graced with," Mr Pickering said.
"I had bought a ring... And we were in agreeance we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together".
Neighbours reported hearing two gunshots early yesterday morning, before emergency services arrived at the Wembley Street property.
Police left dozens of evidence markers in the driveway, as well as around a shipping container located at the back of the rural block.

Today forensics remained on scene, while the front of the property was blocked off with tape.
Investigators have seized some items however are yet to confirm whether they've found a weapon.
Mr Pickering was questioned by detectives for several hours overnight.
The 43-year-old’s phone has been seized, and police have told 9News he continues to “assist” with their inquiries.
