New poll gives hope to LNP ahead of Queensland election
9NEWS
Queensland Premier Campbell Newman has increased his lead at the end of his first week on the election campaign trail.
Last week his chances were closer to 50-50, but the latest Courier Mail Galaxy poll shows he has moved ahead to 52-48 following the first week of campaigning.
Based on these figures, pollsters believe the government would secure 42 seats, the ALP 42 and the remaining five split between Katter Australia Party and independents.

While it is still early days, Mr Newman has indicated he is pleased with the results so far.
Campaigning was suspended today because of the Cairns funeral.
But it will be back into the trenches tomorrow, where promises and policies are expected to fly thick and fast from both sides.Share a tip-off, video or photo with us
