New footage shows convicted killer Andrew Cobby after wife's death

A Queensland court has released a video of the elaborate lie wife killer Andrew Cobby told police in the hours after Kym Cobby's death.

Detectives found Andrew Cobby laying in bushland near the Worongary house Kym lived in, November 2017.

Detectives recorded the interview with him in the back of an ambulance on his way to hospital.

During the interview Andrew Cobby outlines his elaborate story, telling the officers a stranger set upon the pair and that he had been extorted for money.

He cries and begs the officers to tell him how his wife is.

The video was used as evidence shown to the jury who convicted him of Kym's murder.

Cobby is now serving a life sentence in jail over Kym's death, and has never revealed a motive for murdering her.
