New board puts NDIS at risk: Qld minister

Queensland's Disability Services Minister Coralee O'Rourke has warned a new board of "corporate high-flyers" won't have enough experience to roll-out the NDIS.

The rookie MP has urged the federal government not to put the NDIS at risk by replacing the board because new directors won't have enough experience to handle the nation's "biggest social reform since Medicare".

"The federal government is putting all of this at risk, with their proposed changes to the board," she wrote in letter to the Australian Financial Review.

Ms O'Rourke also urged the Commonwealth to allow Queensland to access its "fair share" of NDIS funding earlier than 2018.
