New APEC ambassador appointed

A senior diplomat has been appointed as ambassador for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.
Brendan Berne replaces Sam Gerovich in the role.
APEC is an avenue for Australia to advocate economic reforms, address trade barriers and promote open and transparent markets.
