Workers made redundant from Ford could be in line for jobs at a new abalone processing plant in Geelong.
A $1 million Great Southern Waters seafood plant is expected to create eight full-time jobs by June 2016, increasing to 15 by 2017-18.
Western Victoria MP David Koch said on Tuesday former local automotive factory workers would be well-placed to be win jobs.
