Negus gets diplomatic post to Canada

Former federal police chief Tony Negus will be Australia's next representative in Canada.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott confirmed on Monday Mr Negus will be the next high commissioner to Canada, starting in January.
Mr Negus stepped down as Australian Federal Police commissioner in September after 32 years in the force.

He's been awarded the Australian Police Medal and international awards recognising his contribution to fighting transnational crime.
Mr Abbott thanked outgoing high commissioner Louise Hand for her work in the role since 2012.
