NDIS cost blowouts 'misleading'
AAP
Claims of a national disability insurance scheme cost blowout are inaccurate and misleading, a Senate committee has been told.
The Department of Social Services is concerned about media reports suggesting a billion dollar blowout during the scheme's trial period and the implications for people with disabilities.
"We don't want people worrying that this is not funded or there won't be funding for their packages - it's completely inaccurate," deputy secretary Felicity Hand told a Senate estimates hearing on Thursday, adding the scheme was tracking on budget.
