Nationals to run in federal seat of Indi

The Nationals will run a candidate in the federal seat of Indi at the next election, making it the first three-cornered contest in the Victorian seat in 14 years.

The seat is held by independent Cathy McGowan but the Liberals - who will preselect a candidate this weekend - believe it can be won back.

The previous member was Sophie Mirabella, who is running for preselection, but the Nationals held the seat from 1958 to 1977.
