Trio questioned by police about disappearance of Cory Breton and Iuliana Triscaru after Gateway Motorway intercept

Three people are being questioned by police about the disappearance of Logan pair Cory Breton and Iuliana Triscaru after a highway intercept.

9NEWS understands the trio were intercepted by officers on the Gateway Motorway near the Mt Gravatt exit just before 5pm.

Witnesses told News Talk 4BC that officers had drawn their guns after stopping a black car, and that people were later placed in handcuffs at the scene.

Mr Breton and Ms Triscaru have been missing for more than a fortnigh from the Logan area and Marsden respectively, after they were last seen on January 24.

They were listed as part of a missing trio alongside Lelan Harrington, 23, after he went missing on January 25.

Police yesterday found Mr Harrington and questioned him, and he remains in custody.

Investigators have also established two crime scenes in the Logan area, searching Mr Harrington's Kingston townhouse and nearby dams today.  

Despite pleas from the missing pair's families and reports of a sighting of Mr Breton's car at the Cleveland ferry terminal, there has been no signs of life since their disappearance.

Mr Harrington's mother was furious that he had not been released today.

"They said he wasn't being charged, they said he was going to be released, now they're saying he's not being released," she said.
