Murray-Darling Basin up to nature: MP

The fate of the Murray-Darling Basin is in nature's hands, Nationals MP Mark Coulton believes.

While the western NSW MP is concerned about low water supply levels in the region, especially in towns such as Moree, he argues the debate about which federal minister is in charge of water management is largely academic.

"Anyone who can tell me they understand the Murray-Darling Basin is full of it - nature is still in charge," he told reporters in Canberra.
