Mulleted man's failed athletic feat

A red-haired mulleted man provided commuters in Sydney with a few seconds of laughs after they cheered on his failed attempt to run up a downwards-moving train station escalator.

Commuters enthusiastically cheered the man as he attempted to traverse the down escalator at Kings Cross train station.

"Come on mate, you can do it!" one commuter can be heard saying.

As his attempt to reach the escalator's pinnacle starts to become too hard, the man raises his arms and turns around to travel in the escalator's intended direction.

Mobile phone footage of the failed endeavour was uploaded to Instagram, where viewers were not so kind.

"Are those prison greens?" Ted Mundy wrote.

"Weak. At least nail the run mate," Martin Novosel added.
