Teenager allegedly caught driving 185km/h in stolen car

Two boys, one as young as 14, have been charged following a police pursuit through Sydney's west in an allegedly stolen car.

Officers spotted a sedan allegedly going 185km/h in a 100km/h zone on the M4 at Eastern Creek at 2am today.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and police started a pursuit at Roper Road in Erskine Park.

Police allege the car was stolen from Double Bay earlier in the night.

Shortly after the car stopped at Koomooloo Crescent in Shavley, where the alleged driver, aged 14, was arrested.

A 17-year-old passenger was also arrested.

Both were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where the 14-year-old boy was charged with police pursuit, being in custody of suspected stolen goods, exceeding the speed limit by 45km/h, taking a car without consent and driving unlicensed.

The 17-year-old was charged with being carried in a car without the consent of the owner.

They were refused bail to appear in children's court.
