MPs travel perks change within months: PM

Tony Abbott will expedite a review of travel entitlements for MPs in the hope of making changes before next year's federal election.

The prime minister has flagged that he wants to make changes arising from a review "within a few months" to make sure the public has confidence in the expenses system.

Mr Abbott told reporters in Adelaide on Wednesday he was focused on making changes that were within community expectations.
