Gold Coast's beloved Mowerman gears up for 15th straight charity fundraiser
He's known around Australia as "The Mowerman", but Claude Harvey has traded in his trusty clipper for a different set of wheels as he takes off on his 15th annual Gold Coast walk to raise funds for a cause close to his heart.
For over a decade, Harvey garnered attention by traversing the country on a lawnmower, but this year, he opted for a new ride: a motorised scooter.
"I thought this year was the year to do something different," Harvey said.

The funds raised during his charity journey will go towards Bravehearts, an organisation that supports children who have been sexually abused.
"I'm hoping to crack the $2 million, I'm $168,000 away from it," Harvey said.
He set off from the New South Wales border yesterday, aiming to reach Hope Island in the next six days, and will be stopping off at shopping centres to collect donations until September 28.

While his motorised scooter offers more speed, it's not Harvey's favourite vehicle.
"I prefer... the mower," he said.
