Hollywood director reveals first glimpse of Jared Leto as The Joker

The first image of actor Jared Leto as The Joker from upcoming Hollywood film Suicide Squad has been released.
With green hair, manic tattoos, mangled teeth and a trademark fanatical grin, the image shows a departure from Heath Ledger’s famously gritty rendition of the character in 2008 film The Dark Knight, and Jack Nicholson’s circus-performer inspired Joker in 1989 film Batman.
David Ayer, the upcoming film’s director, tweeted the image.
“The Suicide Squad wishes you a Happy Anniversary Mr. J! #Joker75 #SuicideSquad @WarnerBrosEnt @DCComics” he wrote.
The official reveal stirred considerable excitement among fans, after several false images were circulated on social media.
The film is set to be released next year.
