At a memorial near Brisbane's Kholo Creek, dozens of people arrived with yellow flowers to pay tribute to murdered mother Allison Baden-Clay.

The day after her husband Gerard was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in jail, visitors were emotional over the woman lost in such horrific circumstances.

“Allison was a dear school friend at Ipswich Girls Grammar. She was very liked, very generous, (an) intelligent person, (a) beautiful person,” one woman said.

“It's very tragic that this has happened to her, it's unbelievable actually.”

An eight-year-old boy visiting the memorial with his mother said he could identify with the Baden-Clays’ three daughters.

“It makes me feel like one of the girls. It would be very sad if I lost my mum,” he said.
