Motorcyclist sent hurtling in frightening intersection crash

The frightening moment a motorcyclist was thrown into the air after colliding with a car at a Sydney intersection has been captured on dashcam.

In the video obtained by 9NEWS, a silver sedan can be seen turning right in front of the motorcyclist at the Harris Street-Pier Street intersection in Ultimo at about 5.20pm on Wednesday.

The motorcyclist slammed into the passenger side of the car, sending the rider hurtling over the front of his bike, into the air and onto the road.

Pedestrians and fellow drivers rushed to the motorcyclist’s aid as he lay in the middle of the intersection.

He was taken to hospital for assessment but is understood to have escaped serious injury.
