Motorcyclist dead after collision with 85-year-old driver in Sydney's west

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a driver in Sydney's west.

An 85-year-old driver of a Nissan Tiida collided with the 57-year-old motorcyclist on Station Road, Toongabbie at 1:45pm yesterday.

The motorcyclist was pushed into another car after his motorbike was allegedly struck by the Tiida driver.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics and was then taken to Westmead Hospital by the New South Wales Ambulance.

The man died a little over an hour later from his injuries.

Police arrested and charged the 85-year-old woman with negligent driving occasioning death.

She was taken to hospital for mandatory testing and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on May 3.
