Motorcyclist crashes at 70km/h on Melbourne's Brighton Pier

A motorbike rider who crashed into a concrete railing after speeding down a popular Melbourne pier will have questions to answer after his recovery.

Witnesses told police the man was zooming on a Triumph motorcycle at around 70km/h along Brighton Pier at 2.30am when he lost control.

The 38-year-old Brunswick man crashed into a concrete railing and had to be treated by a shocked onlooker on a nearby boat.

A spokesman for Victoria Police said the man will be interviewed at a later date for traffic offences.
