Australia's top 10 most expensive schools in 2025
Australia's most elite schools have become more expensive, with three charging over $50k in school fees for Year 12s in 2025.
Edstart's new annual school fees report highlights the most expensive states to send your child to school by analysing 902 non-government schools across the country.
Fees nationally jumped by 6.03 per cent this year, according to the report.
The ACT had the highest median fees ($17,216) and Victoria boasted the most expensive school nationwide, but NSW dominated the top ranks for the most expensive schools.
Schools in Sydney makeup eight out of the top 10 most expensive Australian schools list this year.
However, NSW's median school fee for non-government-owned schools is $9315, the third-highest state median in 2025.
Half of the top 10 most expensive schools are all-boys schools, while three are co-ed and two are all-girls.

10. Trinity Grammar (NSW)
Trinity Grammar in Sydney's Innerwest suburbs ranked tenth this year as the most expensive Australian school, with a Year 12 fee of $47,500 in 2025.
This is a 6.7 per cent increase from the school's 2024 senior year cost, up from $39,948.
9. Reddam House (NSW)
Sending a child through Year 12 at Reddam House in Sydney will cost you $47,523 in 2025.
That's a substantial 7.7 per cent rise from 2024's Year 12 cost of $43,400.
Reddam is one of three co-educational schools in the top 10 most expensive Australian schools this year.
8. Wesley College (Victoria)
Wesley College in Melbourne comes in seventh on this list, with a charge of $47,574 for Year 12 students.
That's a 7.7 per cent increase from 2024's fees, when Year 12 cost $44,154.
Wesley is one of only two Victorian schools in the top 10 - and indeed, only two schools outside Sydney.
7. Shore (NSW)
Shore, an all-boys school in North Sydney, costs $47,755 for a Year 12 student this year.
Shore saw a 7.2 per cent fee increase from 2024.
6. The King's School (NSW)
The King's School in Parramatta costs $48,731 for a Year 12 student in 2025.
This is a significant 8 per cent rise from its 2024 final year school fee, which was $43,560.
5. Cranbrook (NSW)
Cranbrook in Sydney's east costs $49,521 for a student to go through Year 12 in 2025, one of four schools in Sydney in this year's top 5.
It's also one of two schools in the affluent Sydney suburb of Bellevue Hill in the top 5.
4. SCEGGS (NSW)
Marginally beating Cranbrook, SCEGGS School in Darlinghurst, Sydney costs $49,936 for Year 12, putting it fourth on this list.
The school's fee increased by 5.5 per cent since last year.
3. The Scots College (NSW)
The Scots College in Sydney's Bellevue Hill takes third place for the nation's most expensive school, costing $51,258 for Year 12.
This is a 5.4 per cent increase from 2024, when the senior year fee was $48,320.
1. Geelong Grammar (Victoria)
Once again, Geelong Grammar School in Geelong, Victoria tops the list of Australia's most expensive schools with a fee of $52,612 for Year 12 students in 2025.
This is a 5 per cent increase from the co-ed school's fee in 2024, which was $50,072.
Geelong Grammar's school fee is over $41,000 higher than Victoria's median ($11,230).
In comparison, the most expensive school in Queensland is $36,420 (Brisbane Grammar) followed by $35,715 in Western Australia (Presbyterian Ladies' College).
South Australia ($32,910), ACT ($32,790), and Tasmania ($24, 640) follow.
