Bullets have been fired into a home in Melbourne's north overnight in the latest shooting to unfold in the city.

The incident has occurred just days after an ex-bikie was shot several times in the chest in an attempted assassination, however, police do not believe the shooting is related.

Several shots were fired at a house in Broadleaf Drive, Epping in a drive-by shooting just after 2am while five people were inside.

No one was injured but the façade of the home was peppered with bullets and two cars in the driveway were hit, their tyres bursting.

One of the people inside the home, 18-year-old Murtada Alessawi, was bailed to the house last week, accused of being a gunman in a suburban shoot-out in the nearby suburb of Pascoevale on June 14.

Confronting CCTV of that incident shows him allegedly blasting an SKS assault rifle into a home, firing more than 20 rounds, hitting a bungalow at the back of the property.

Police believe this shooting is linked to Middle Eastern organised crime involving a number of other similar incidents in the north and western suburbs.
