Second man charged over 2023 fatal shooting of underworld figure Mohammed Akbar Keshtiar
A second person has been charged as a part of an investigation into the fatal shooting of underworld figure Mohammed Akbar Keshtiar in Melbourne almost two years ago.
Keshtiar was walking along Almeida Crescent in South Yarra with a male associate on August 4 in 2023 when he was shot a number of times.
His associate was not physically injured during the incident and managed to flee the scene to safety.

The 53-year-old Mongol bikie, also known as "Afghan Ali", died after he was rushed to hospital.
Victoria Police said in a statement today a 25-year-old man from Hampton Park has been charged with murder and conduct endangering life as an investigation into Keshtiar's death continues.
The man is due to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

According to Victoria Police, the man is currently in custody on unrelated matters.
Earlier this month, a 23-year-old Narre Warren man was arrested as part of the ongoing investigation.
He was also charged with murder and conduct endangering life.
The man was remanded in custody to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on August 8.
In September 2024, police announced a $1 million reward for information in relation to the fatal shooting and that reward remains on offer.
The investigation remains ongoing.
