Model bears post-baby ‘tiger stripes’ rubbishes claims she sought abortion to avoid stretch marks

Australian model Robyn Lawley has taken to social media to shoot down an article that claimed she considered an abortion because she didn’t want to get stretch marks.

In an impassioned post to Facebook and Instagram, the model had strong words for the writer of the article as well as online trolls and body shamers.

“I was shocked not only because that is not what I said, not to mention I already had a tonne of stretch marks like 90 percent of the world, but to read that entire article and be already heavily pregnant, that’s their angle?” she wrote.

The 26-year-old, who gave birth to her daughter Ripley in February, also posted a photo of herself in her underwear, with her stretch marks clearly visible – calling them her “tiger stipes”

“As for my stretch marks I knew they were coming and as they’re fading into white, I thought I might capture them because they are some bad ass tiger stripes. And I earned them,” she wrote.

The model also had an inspiring message to new mums struggling with the pressures of body image ideals.

“We put an unbelievable amount of ridiculous time consuming pressure on women to care so much about their flaws they forget how truly beautiful they are today.

“F--- them, who cares, be you, be loud, be proud. And put your efforts into skills that rely more on your physical self.”
