Missing kayaker confirmed dead after hours-long search in Sydney's west
A kayaker who went missing on the Nepean River in Sydney's west has died, police have confirmed.
A witness saw and heard a man yelling for help in the river at Yarramundi before he disappeared under the water about 1.20pm on Thursday.
Emergency services were called and immediately started a search for the 36-year-old.

Local officers, the police helicopter, State Emergency Service Volunteers and Fire and Rescue NSW were all involved in the search.
An overturned kayak was found soon after rescue efforts began and police divers found the man's body shortly after 6pm.
