Major search finds grandmother lost in WA bushland

An extensive land and air search has found a West Australian grandmother with dementia who was missing for more than two days in bushland.

Christine Irvine, 75, was found yesterday morning and taken to hospital for assessment.

She had been missing from her Cundinup property, about 212km south of Perth, since last Wednesday.

Jennifer Irvine told 9News her parents were gardening just before her mother vanished.

Police, including air and land assets and SES volunteers began a major search operation after Irvine was reported missing by her family.

The area surrounding the property is hilly and the bushland is dense.

The search covered a 3km radius of bushland and river banks.

But police say she was found safe and well.

A police spokesman thanked everyone who took part in the search and media outlets.

"Thank you to the community and media for assisting our appeals.

"The woman's family has requested privacy at this time."
