Teen boy who vanished from Sydney highway found

A teen boy who vanished from a Sydney highway has been found safe and well.

The 14-year-old was last seen on the Great Western Highway at Wentworthville, in Sydney's west, about 4.15pm on Saturday.

Police were notified after the 14-year-old failed to return home.

Officers this morning said he went to the Merrylands Police Station at 4am, and is safe and well.

"Police thank the media and the community for their assistance," they said in a statement.
