Thirty-two women from across the nation will grace the stage tonight vying for the title of Miss Universe Australia.

Perth model Grady Wulff is among the contestants who have been working towards the nail-biting final at the Melbourne’s Sofitel Hotel since January.

Despite pageant stereotypes, Ms Wulff said the competition had not been catty “at all”.

“Absolutely not… all of us girls have been so supportive of one another,” she said.

With the swimwear portion of the competition already judged, all that remains are  the evening gowns and question and answer categories.

Organisers told 9NEWS the competition was not just about beauty, but focused on confident and intelligence.

“Tonight we’ve got 32 amazing women on stage… so it’s impossible to differentiate just on beauty,” Miss Universe Australia National Director Troy Barbagallo said.

Miss Universe Australia 2017 will be crowned by last year’s winner, Caris Tiivel.
