Miranda Kerr's family begs model to 'come home'

Miranda Kerr's family have made a public appeal for their model daughter to "come home".

Speaking with the ABC's Family Confidential, Kerr's family said they hadn't seen Kerr or her son Flynn "in over a year" and revealed they had first learned of the failure of her marriage from her former husband Orlando Bloom.

"We have been best friends for most of our life. We used to talk every day," Therese said. "I would send her text messages during the day."

Kerr’s mother Therese, father John, brother Matthew and grandmother Ann said cracks in the family unit began to show last year.

"She told us 'now that I'm 30, I'm going to take control’," John said.

Shortly after, Miranda fired her mother Therese from her role as managing director of her skincare line 'KORA Organics'.

Since then, Therese has started her own rival skincare line 'Divine by Therese Kerr'.

Both parents admit that Miranda, who they say is "now surrounded by yes people", began changing after moving to New York to pursue her modelling career in 2009.

"I don't know what happened to Miranda… she was such a nice little girl," John said.

Therese said that it had "been over a year" since the family had not only seen Miranda, but also their only grandson.

"We haven't sat down and had a meal together in over a year," she said.

"After what I know now I would rather she did just marry a no body because you really can't get that family time by yourself. I just hope Flynn grows up and he wants to be with his nan and pop," John said.

Kerr's brother Matthew, who admitted that he struggled in the shadow of his famous sister, said that he wanted to spend some "one on one" time with Kerr without "an entourage of people we don't know".

"I love her to death and I just want to see her more," he said.
