Minister to boost NBN satellite services

Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull is set to announce plans to deliver satellite-based internet services to an extra 9000 people.

Mr Turnbull will release the details of the service in Sydney on Thursday.

The minister has been critical of the former Labor government's handling of the $351 million interim satellite service which currently has 45,000 clients - far short of the 250,000 promised.
