Former leader Christine Milne to be honoured at Greens conference

Almost two decades of state and federal political service will see Christine Milne awarded life membership of the Tasmanian Greens.
The former senator and Australian Greens leader who officially severed ties with Canberra's upper house in August will on Saturday be presented with the honour during a party conference in Hobart.

The two-day meeting, some of which will be held behind closed doors, will include addresses by the state's federal Senators Peter Whish-Wilson and Nick Mckim, along with state MPs.
Members will also get the chance to meet Greens candidates endorsed to stand at the 2016 federal election, including Martine Delaney and Carol Beaumont.
