'Million Dollar Burgers': Yarra Valley winery’s incredible menu

A winery in Victoria’s Yarra Valley has unveiled a new range of ‘Million Dollar Burgers’ that will definitely take a large bite out of your wallet.

Far from your average patty-cheese-tomato-lettuce option, the burgers at Levantine Hill Estate promise diners “something special”.

“Everyone loves a bit extra, and a bit of luxury. That’s what we tried to find with these ingredients and these burgers,” Executive Chef Luke Headon exclusively told 9News today.

The range starts at $130, which will get you a ultra-high marble score Wagyu patty, nestled in a toasted brioche bun with a side of duck fat fries.

For $250, big spenders will receive a burger housing tempura lobster medallions, champagne mayonnaise and duck fat onion, completed with the hero ingredient: a dusting of gold.

“A lot of people think, ‘$250 for a burger?’… but when you think it has gold dust, Wagyu… I think it’s a bargain,” Samantha Jreissati, Managing Director at Levantine Hill Estate, said with a laugh.

When the idea of the super-luxe dish was presented to the public, some scoffed while others were keen to indulge.

“I think it’d be a pretty great burger so maybe,” one said.

Another potential consumer said, “We were staggered when we heard the price. We contemplated getting one between the three of us and dividing it up.”

The burgers will be available from tomorrow for a limited time only.
