Michelle Obama posts throwback photo for Father's Day

He may be the President of the United States, but at the end of the day Barack Obama is just a dad.

First lady Michelle Obama posted a throwback photo of her husband on Instagram to wish him a happy Father's Day.

According to NBC, the couple didn't get to spend the holiday together.

Mr Obama was in southern California over the weekend while Mrs Obama was on her way back from a cultural tour of Italy with her daughters and mother.

And for those of you worried you may have missed Father's Day, don't worry - in Australia it's not until the first Sunday of September.
