At least he came prepared ... Michael Keaton caught stuffing acceptance speech back into pocket after losing Best Actor award
A video clip showing the moment Michael Keaton missed out on the Best Actor Oscar at the Academy Awards has gone viral.
In the clip, an excited Keaton can be seen pulling out a notecard - apparently his pre-written acceptance speech - as presenter Cate Blanchett reads the list of nominees.
When Blanchett announced the winner, Eddie Redmayne for his role in The Theory of Everything, Keaton quickly slipped the card back into his tuxedo pocket.
It ironically echoed Keaton's nominated role in Birdman, where he plays a washed-up former superhero actor striving for serious recognition.
Despite Keaton's loss, which some are calling "the saddest Oscars moment ever", the film won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
