The Tasmanian government has announced a decade-long plan to tackle mental ill-health, highlighting that the way forward should not just focus on more funding.

Health Minister Michael Ferguson on Friday released details of the "road map", designed with the help of community stakeholders, which includes strengthened services for infants, children and young people.

Additional resources will be built into future budgets as necessary, he added.
