Men quizzed over Vic home rampage killing
A group of men has been questioned in Melbourne over a violent home invasion that left a 20-year-old man dead and two others suffering injuries.
Police say a number of people were taken into custody on Monday evening in connection with the brutal attack.
"They've since been released without charge," a police spokesman said.
He could not confirm the number of arrests, but added that the homicide investigation is ongoing.
The arrests came after a gang of youths armed with long weapons - possibly bats, poles or machetes - stormed a western suburbs home on Australia Day and attacked everyone inside.
A 20-year-old man, from Diggers Rest, was beaten to death and two others suffered a cut hand and a leg injury.
The gang also trashed the Deer Park home and a car parked in the front driveway before fleeing into nearby parkland.
Police have said the attack was not random and the two groups were known to each other.
