Men 'siphoning fuel' arrested at service station

Three men have been arrested after being seen in a stolen car at a service station in Melbourne’s south-east last night.

Police were called to the outlet on Warrigal Road, Malvern East, following reports the men were acting suspiciously in a Mitsubishi Pajero about 11pm.

9NEWS understands the trio were attempting to siphon fuel from the bowser into jerry cans.

The men attempted to flee the scene on foot when police arrived, but were caught and handcuffed.

A 25-year-old, 28-year-old and 31-year-old all remain in custody, with investigations ongoing.
