Men armed with machete and hammer storm Gold Coast pub
Two men armed with a machete and a hammer took cash from a pub on the Gold Coast. (9NEWS)
Staff at a Gold Coast pub have been confronted by two men armed with a machete and a hammer overnight.
Two men stormed the Oxenford Tavern on the Old Pacific Highway around 3.40am and took cash from the register before fleeing in a car parked outside.
“One jumped the counter, threatened staff and took a quantity of cash from the register, jumped back over the counter and left through the side entrance,” Acting Senior Sergeant Cook said.
The car is described as a small black hatchback.
One man is described as being around 30-years-old with an olive complexion.
He was wearing a mask and gloves, a black cap with a yellow emblem, a dark hooded jacket with a white emblem and dark long pants with a white emblem. He also had white shoes on.
He was carrying a large machete with Chinese characters on the blade.
The second man is described as having a slim build and was wearing a dark mask, a black hooded jumper with a small white emblem on the hood, long dark pants and white shoes.
A gold link necklace was also dropped at the scene and is believed to belong to one of the men.
No one was injured in the robbery.
