A woman who drove her car down three flights of stairs after driving over a pedestrian overpass in Melbourne's south-east is expected to be charged with drink driving.

Police attended the incident, which occurred just before 2am and breath-tested the woman, resulting in an alleged reading of 0.158.

The woman is also expected to be charged with careless driving.
